Unlike traditional e-commerce sites, Better That utilizes a unique reverse auction technology where AI acts as a “virtual salesperson,” dynamically determining product prices based on real-time supply, demand, and buyer behavior. To succeed, the company needed a master product database capable of integrating seamlessly with multiple external e-commerce platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, and Magento to support these individual retailer instances in real time.

As Better That expanded, its ambitious business model was threatened by significant technical and operational bottlenecks:

  • The “Million-Product” Backlog: By December 2022, a manual data-cleansing process had created a massive backlog of more than one million products, making it impossible to scale the platform’s inventory efficiently.
  • Infrastructure Instability: The existing real-time data synchronization webhooks were failing frequently, leading to price discrepancies, inventory mismatches, and random changes in product information.
  • Integration Complexity: Onboarding complex retailers like Magento was proving “complex, error-prone, and time-consuming”. Early tests revealed critical pricing bugs where a 10% markup was being applied twice. Once at the backend and again at the front-endturning a $499 product into a $603.79 listing.

  • Adobe Extension Marketplace Integration: The team developed and published a dedicated Betterthat extension for Magento, providing a secure, standardized framework that streamlined the onboarding process for high-volume retailers.
  • Automated Financial Logic: The backend was enhanced with an automated disbursement system, ensuring retailers receive net payments and commissions within two business days, while also automating complex return and reimbursement workflows.

A Digital Solution by Vista SysTech Limited

Client Problem

Beauty Line Bangladesh is a premium K-Beauty and skincare e-commerce brand serving customers across Bangladesh. The business needed a robust online store to showcase a wide catalog of Korean skincare products spanning cleansers, serums, moisturizers, ampoules, masks, and more. However, their existing WordPress and WooCommerce setup presented serious performance and user experience challenges.

Traditional WordPress themes struggled to deliver the fast, app-like shopping experience that modern consumers expect. Page load times were slow, especially on mobile devices commonly used by Bangladeshi shoppers. Every click triggered a full page reload, creating a sluggish browsing experience that led to high bounce rates and abandoned carts. The frontend felt outdated and could not support dynamic features like real-time cart updates, smooth category filtering, or interactive skin-type quizzes without heavy plugin dependency. Additionally, the client’s team found it difficult to scale the storefront design while keeping the WordPress dashboard they were already comfortable using for product and order management.

The core challenge was clear: how to deliver a modern, lightning-fast shopping experience on the frontend without forcing the client to abandon the WordPress backend workflow they already knew and relied on daily.

The Solution

We implemented a headless WordPress architecture, decoupling the frontend from the backend entirely. WordPress and WooCommerce continued to power the backend, handling product management, inventory, orders, and content updates through the familiar admin dashboard. For the frontend, we built a fully custom storefront using React and Next.js.

This approach gave us complete control over the user interface. We designed a clean, visually rich storefront optimized for the beauty and skincare niche, featuring high-quality product imagery, organized category navigation, and a personalized shopping experience with a dedicated shop-by-skin-type section. The React-based frontend enabled seamless page transitions, instant product filtering, and dynamic cart functionality — all without full page reloads.

Next.js provides server-side rendering and image optimization out of the box, dramatically improving page speed and SEO performance. Product pages, category listings, and promotional banners now load significantly faster, improving both search engine visibility and the overall shopping journey.

Crucially, the client experienced zero disruption to their daily operations. They continue to add products, update prices, manage orders, and run promotions directly from the WordPress admin panel. Every change reflects instantly on the React frontend through the WordPress REST API.

The result is a high-performance, scalable e-commerce platform that combines the content management simplicity of WordPress with the speed and flexibility of a modern React application — giving Beauty Line Bangladesh a competitive edge in the rapidly growing online skincare market.
